1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant. (See

3. Remove the air cleaner and fresh air duct component. (See
INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]
.)
4. Remove the cooling fan component. (See
COOLING FAN COMPONENT
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]
.)
5. Remove the front splash shield (RH).
6. Remove the generator and A/C drive belt. (See
DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-
3.7]
.)
7. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
9. Refill the engine coolant. (See
ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZI-3.7]
.)
10. Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See
ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION [MZI-
3.7]
.)
WARNING:

Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they
can cause severe burns or serious injury.
z
When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body
with generator terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause
personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components.
Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the
following operation.
