Indicates the VSS input signal was intermittent. This DTC is set when a VSS
concern interferes with other OBD tests, such as the catalyst efficiency
monitor, the EVAP monitor, or the HO2S monitor.

Intermittent open in the sensor wiring harness circuit(s)

Intermittent short in the sensor wiring harness circuit(s)

Sensor malfunction

VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS
BEEN RECORDED
z
Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been
recorded?
Yes Go to the next step.
No
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair
order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR
INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
z
Verify related Service Bulletins and/or
on-line repair information availability.
z
Is any related Service Bulletins
available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the
available Service Bulletins.
z
If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the
next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY STORED DTC IN DSC/RSC
HU/CM
z
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position (Engine off).
z
Verify stored DTCs in DSC/RSC
HU/CM.
z
Are DTCs stored?
Yes
Go to the appropriate DTC inspection. (See
ON-
BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DSC/RSC]
.)
No
Go to the next step.
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF
DTC P1500 HAS BEEN COMPLETED
z
Verify that all disconnected
connectors reconnected.
z
Clear the DTC from the PCM memory
using the M-MDS.
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See
PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-
3.7]
.)
