FAIL
(cont’d.)
6. At this point, there should be nothing impeding the air
flow, and the fans should be running at high speed.
Check the temperatures for the 15
0
C/50
0
C criteria.
a. If the 15
0
C/50
0
C criteria exists, a temperature
problem exists, and the fans (at high speed) should
cool down the cabinet. Wait five minutes and rerun the
test. If the test still fails, the ambient room temperature
is probably too high, and the room should be cooled.
b. If the 15
0
C/50
0
C criteria does not exist, the AHD1
circuit pack, the fans, or the S3 or S4 sensors are
defective. Replace these items one at a time (in the
order listed). Rerun the test between each
replacement. Failures can occur on the
Maintenance/Tape Processor, the Duplication
Interface, and the EPN Maintenance circuit pack that
are not detected by the respective maintenance, but
that cause many, if not all, environment tests to fail. If
many environment tests are failing, the suspect circuit
pack, depending on the system configuration, should
be replaced and the test rerun. If this does not clear
the problem, follow normal escalation procedures.
