Watchdog Timer

ADSP-BF535 Blackfin Processor Hardware Reference

The

TRO

bit is a sticky bit that is set when the watchdog timer expires.

Note that this bit is cleared by both hardware and software resets. If the
reset event is selected in

ICTL

and subsequently generated by the watchdog

timer, software must check the Software Watchdog Timer Source bit
(

SWTS

) in the Software Reset register (

SWRST

) to determine if the reset was

caused by the watchdog timer.

For more information, see “Software Resets

and Watchdog Timer” on page 3-14.

The

TRO

bit can also be manually

cleared by writing a 1 to it.



When the processor is in Emulation mode, the watchdog timer will
not decrement even if it is enabled.
