The serial number is used to define the
default instrument name
, which is:
<Type><variant>-<serial_number>
For example,
FSV3004-123456

The instrument name is required to establish a connection to the instrument in a LAN.

Measuring a basic signal
We will start out by measuring a basic signal, using the internal calibration signal as
the input.
To display the internal 64 MHz calibration signal
1. Press the [PRESET] key to start out in a defined instrument configuration.
2. Press the [Setup] key on the front panel.
3. Tap the "S Support" softkey.
4. Tap the "Calibration Signal" tab.
