21.1.3 Default watchdog timeout
The timeout depends on the watchdog counter clock source. Following initial power on
the watchdog is clocked by the LPO128K_CLK and will issue a timeout after 1024
cycles. This results in the Watchdog timeout being generated after approximately 8 ms,
which will force a MCU reset. To avoid this condition, please ensure that the watchdog is
configured or refreshed before the 1024 cycles have elapsed.
21.1.4 Watchdog Timeout Reaction
The WDOG timeout reaction is by default configured to generate a system reset. It can be
alternatively configured for an interrupt reaction followed by a reset event by
appropriately configuring WDOG and RCM. When configured as an interrupt, the reset
event will be raised by WDOG after some delay (delay configurable within RCM and
fixed within WDOG).
The WDG feature is controlled by WDOG.CS whereas RGM feature is controlled by
RCM.SRIE. The delay durations are different. For WDOG it is fixed 128 bus clock
cycles. For RCM, it is configurable. The RCM IRQ is enabled when both SRIE[WDOG]
and SRIE[GIE] are set.
Following table explains the behavior w.r.t. different configurations.
