- Air bubbles or particles in the fl uid path of the
machine, which can cause a false blood leak alarm,
have entered the blood leak detector.
Measures:
- Press the fl ashing Alarm button and the alarm text
will be shown on the Information Display.
- Check the machine inlet dialysis fl uid tube (the
tube to the machine from the dialyzer) for blood.
Follow the routines of the clinic which may differ
depending on the amount of blood has leaked to the
fl uid compartment and the status of the patient. The
measures may vary between immediate discontinuing
of the treatment without returning the blood to the
patient, to continuing treatment without action.
- The blood leak machine alarm actions may be
overridden (bypassed) by pressing the Select key .
The blood pump will start up at 50 ml/min blood
fl ow rate, adjust if necessary. The blood leak detector
will automatically be rinsed with dialysis fl uid during
the override period. If the cause of the alarm has not
been corrected within the override time, the machine
alarm actions will automatically recur. If necessary,
repeat the override procedure. Especially note that
the blood fl ow rate will remain at 50 ml/min after the
override period and has to be manually adjusted. See
