Ultrafilter - How to change

Note

•

Make sure that the ultra

fi

lter is changed in an aseptic way.

Note

Procedure

1. Release the lower part of the ultra

fi

lter holder by pulling the handle

and pressing the latch downwards.

2. Remove the ultra

fi

lter by pulling it gently downwards.

3. Insert the new ultra

fi

lter into the holder and push it gently upwards.

4. Close the holder by pushing the lower latch into position.

5. Con

fi

rm the change of ultra

fi

lter (see Ultra

fi

lter replacement

reminder on page 8:39).

6. Label the ultra

fi

lter with date for change.

7. Perform a Heat disinfection program before the AK 96 dialysis

machine is used for treatment after the ultra

fi

lter has been changed.

Ultrafilter replacement reminder

If UFD (Ultra

fi

lter Dialysis Fluid) is installed the operator will

be reminded to change ultra

fi

lter. The operator will be noti

fi

ed

by an attention alarm when a limit has been exceeded. There are

three different limits: number of days since last change, number

of heat disinfections since last change and number of hypochlorite

disinfections since last change.
