•
If the control carrier in the small-cabinet System 75 system contains a TN752 or TN755B power
supply, this circuit pack will occupy port slots 12 and 13 of the new R7si enhanced control carrier.
•
If you simultaneously add an EPN, you must install a TN776 or TN570D expansion interface
circuit pack in slot 1 of the new R7si or R8si enhanced control carrier.
•
If you have both of the above scenarios, the result is either a net loss of 2 port slots (from the AB
carrier) or a net gain of only 2 port slots (from the AA carrier).
Replacing the cabinet and control carrier
When you replace the cabinet and control carrier for a small-cabinet System 75:
•
You need to move and manually retranslate port circuit packs from the small-cabinet System 75
control carrier.
•
A new R7si/R8si control carrier with 9 port slots and new power supplies will replace either:
— An R1V3 J58890AB control carrier in a Model 1 with 12 port slots. This provides 3 fewer
port slots.
— An R1V3 J58890AA control carrier in a Model 2 with 8 port slots. This provides 1 extra
port slot.
•
Out of these 9 port slots, nonport-related circuit packs may need to occupy certain slots.
•
If the control carrier in the small-cabinet System 75 system holds a TN752 or TN755B power
supply, this circuit pack will occupy port slots 8 and 9 of the new R7si/R8si control carrier.
•
If you simultaneously add an EPN, you must install a TN776 or TN570D expansion interface
circuit pack in slot 1 of the new R7si/R8si control carrier.
•
If you have both of the above scenarios, the result is either a net loss of 6 port slots (from the AB
carrier) or a net loss of 2 port slots (from the AA carrier).
