Usage Information Dell Networking OS software resolves the network address the
network
command
configures with the routes in the main routing table to ensure that the networks are
reachable using non-BGP routes and non-default routes.
As BGP does not query next-hop information corresponding to locally originated
routes, a local route with an unreachable next-hop is chosen as the best route.
When a combination of locally originated and peer originated routes occurs, both these
routes will exist in the RTM. However, only the best route is kept active in the RTM and
the remaining route is rendered in-active.
It is possible to keep only one locally originated route in the BGP database. Network
command has preference over the re-distributed routes. When the locally originated
route is no longer present in the database the other route is automatically installed.
In BGP, the next-hop for the route is calculated from the information that is acquired
through IGP or static routes.

Syntax
network ip-address mask backdoor
To remove a network, use the
no network ip-address mask backdoor
command.
Parameters
ip-address Enter an IP address in dotted decimal format of the network.
mask
Enter the mask of the IP address in the slash prefix length format
(for example, /24).
The mask appears in command outputs in dotted decimal
format (A.B.C.D).
