Argument Description
cost-value
Assigned cost value, in the range <1-65535>.
Example
The following example sets the IP interface cost value to 65:
device-name
(config)#
interface sw2
device-name
(config-if sw2)#
ip ospf cost 65
Setting the OSPF Message Digest Key
The
ip ospf message-digest-key
command and the
ospf message-digest-key
command, in IP
Interface Configuration mode, set the md5 authentication password. To remove the md5
authentication password, use the
no
form of the commands.
The values for the
key-id
and
PASSWORD
arguments must match values specified for other
neighbors on a network segment.

Argument Description
key-id
The assigned key ID number, in the range <1-255>.
PASSWORD
The assigned md5 authentication OSPF password.
Configuring OSPF Network Type
The
ip ospf network
command and the
ospf network
command, in IP Interface Configuration
mode, configure the OSPF network type for a specified IP interface. The
no
form of the commands
sets the media type of the configured IP interface.
The user can choose to configure the OSPF network type to either broadcast or non-broadcast
multi-access, regardless of the default media type. Using this feature, the user can configure
broadcast networks as non-broadcast multi-access networks when, for example, the user has
routers in the network that do not support multicast addressing.
By default, the OSPF network type is broadcast.
Command Syntax

|

|
point-to-multipoint
|
