Controlling the Test Notifications
In the
pingCtlTable
(1.3.6.1.2.1.80.1.2), DISMAN-PING-MIB, are executed the following set of
actions:
1. Control the test notifications per test and gives ability when a test or probe is completed. The
result is either success or failure and an SNMP notification is sent. By default no traps are
generated.

NOTE
The saaThresholdCrossed notification can be configured only by
snmp-server notify
command and can be received when thresholds are crossed up or down. For more
information see “Configuring SNMP” chapter.

Argument Description
pingProbeFailed
This notification is sent when a probe of a response time probe has
failed.
pingTestFailed
This notification is sent when a response time test has failed.
pingTestCompleted
This notification is sent when a response time test has been completed.
NUMBER
(Optional). Specifies the number of failed probes or tests after which the
configured action is taken, in the range is <0-15>.
Note that if the
NUMBER
is not specified it will take the value 1.
