Argument Description
enable
Enable DHCP server. The DHCP server will start with the current configuration.
disable
Disable DHCP server. The DHCP server operations are disabled.
Enabling and Disabling the DHCP Server per Interface
The
service dhcp
command, in Interface Configuration mode, Enables or disables the DHCP
server per interface.
Once the DHCP server is enabled, all the interfaces that belong to the DHCP subnet are DHCP
enabled.

Enabling and Disabling the DHCP Server per VLAN
The
service dhcp
command, in Specific VLAN Configuration mode, Enables or disables the
DHCP server per VLAN.
Once DHCP server is enabled, all the VLANs that belong to the DHCP subnet are DHCP enabled.

Setting the IP Address Distribution Mechanism
The
service dhcp round-robin
command, in IP Interface Configuration mode, enables the Round
Robin IP address distribution mechanism.
The Round Robin IP address distribution mechanism becomes active after the user sets at least one
secondary IP address on the interface and configure the corresponding subnet and range in the
DHCP mode.
The Round Robin mechanism concerns only the subnets that are defined for a particular interface.
The Round Robin mechanism works on a rotating basis - for each request from a DHCP client it
assigns IP addresses from different subnets, defined within the interface. For example: DHCP
