NOTE
Remember that the user must apply the
ssh generate-key dsa
command before
starting the application software SSH server for the first time.
The
ssh generate-key dsa
command will not be shown in the configuration file but
will be saved after rebooting the device if one of the saving commands is applied
(e.g.
write memory
command in Privileged (Enable) mode).
Command Syntax

ssh generate-key dsa
Starting the SSH Server
The
ssh start
command, in Global Configuration mode, initializes and starts the application
software SSH server. Only after executing this command can the user logs into the device securely.
Use the
who
command, in View or Privileged (Enable) mode, to display the current open SSH
connections to the device.

ssh start
Stopping the SSH Server
The
ssh stop
command, in Global Configuration mode, stops the SSH server. Be aware that by
stopping the SSH server, the user is closing all current SSH connections to the device.
NOTE
After stopping the SSH server, all the current SSH connections to the device will be
closed.
Command Syntax
device-name

ssh stop
Displaying the Status of the SSH Debug
The
show debug ssh
command, in Privileged (Enable) mode, displays the debug status for the ssh.
