Enabling the L2-mode of SPF Calculation
The
spf l2-convergence
command, in Router OSPF Configuration mode, enables the L2 mode of
SPF calculation. SPF L2 mode of calculation is a standard defined SPF algorithm with improved
response. The SPF L2 mode of calculation performance is optimized for topologies with L2 control
protocol convergence (i.e. MSTP) and it is provides rapid response when there are L2 topology
changes.

Setting the NSSA Translator Stability Interval
The
timers nssaTranslator
command, in Router OSPF Configuration mode, sets the NSSA
Translator Stability interval (in seconds). The
no
form of this command resets the default value.
By default, the NSSA Translator Stability interval is 40 seconds.
Command Syntax
device-name
(config-router)#

Argument Description
seconds
NSSA Translator Stability interval in the range <1-65535> seconds.
Configuring OSPF Area Parameters
The area parameters include authentication, defining stub areas, and assigning specific costs to the
default summary route. Authentication allows password-based protection against unauthorized
access to an area. Stub areas are areas to which information on external routes is not sent. Instead,
there is a default external route generated by the area border router into the stub area for
destinations outside the autonomous system.
Table 6
lists the OSPF area parameters commands.
Table 6: OSPF Area Parameters Commands
Command
Description
area
authentication
Enables authentication for the specified OSPF area.
area default-
cost
Assigns the specified cost to the default summary route used for the stub
area.
area export-list
Sets a filter by the specified routing access list for networks that are
announced to other areas.
area import-list
Sets a filter by the specified routing access list for networks that are
announced from other areas to the specified area.
area nssa
Sets the specified OSPF area as NSSA.
