Command
Description
reload
Reboots the device with or without saving the current configuration.
Resets the interface modules.
Normal Switch Reboot
The
reload
command, in Privileged (Enable) mode, reboots the device.
The command can be used with or without any one of the following keywords:
•
save
– saves the current configuration to the NVRAM, resets the interface modules and
reboots the device.
•
no-save
– closes down and reboots the device without saving the current configuration to
the NVRAM.
•
to-defaults
– resets the device to its factory-default configuration and reboots it.
If no keyword is provided, the command is equivalent the
reload save
command. When the user
uses the
reload
command, the software requests confirmation before it closes down.

Argument Description
save
(Optional). Saves the running configuration definitions. This is the default.
no-save
(Optional). Does not save the running configuration definitions.
to-defaults
(Optional). Resets the device to its factory-default configuration and reboot
it.

Saving the current configuration and rebooting the device (the

keyword is optional):
