Setting DSCP-to-CoS Mapping
The
set traffic-class
command, in Interface or VLAN ACG Configuration mode, sets DSCP-to-
CoS mapping of the configured ACG to the specified interface and VLAN. The
no
form of this
command cancels the DSCP-to-CoS mapping.
The DSCP-to-CoS mapping is set by the
qos
traffic-class
command in Global Configuration mode.
The DSCP-to-CoS mapping on the ACG will take effect only when the user exits the Interface or
VLAN ACG Configuration mode.

Argument Description
dscp
<
dscp
>
(Optional). If the argument is specified, the command replaces the dscp
value in the IP header of the packet with the value, defined by the
set
traffic-class
dscp
<
dscp
> command.
If the argument is not specified, the command takes the values from the
DSCP-to-CoS table (set by the
qos traffic-class
command
in Global
Configuration mode) and performs DSCP-to-CoS mapping according to
the DSCP value in the packet.
Rate Limiting by the ACG
The
rate-limit
command, in Interface or VLAN ACG Configuration mode, applies a rate-limit on
the ACG to the specified interface or VLAN. The
no
form of this command removed the rate limit
from the configured ACG.
The rate limit on the ACG will take effect only when the user exits the Interface or VLAN ACG
Configuration mode.
By using the
policy
keyword, the user can apply remarking policy depending on the traffic DSCP
and CoS (Class of Service) parameters. This option allows setting a different QoS policy for
different QoS values. The user can set the traffic that exceeds the rate-limit to be assigned with
QoS parameters different from the parameters that are assigned to the conforming traffic. The
following options are available:
•
Setting the DSCP remarking policy for remarking DSCP, Priority, transmit queue and drop
precedence level by DSCP and conformance level.
•
Setting the priority remarking policy for remarking priority and drop precedence level by
priority and conformance level.
•
Setting the priority remarking policy for remarking drop precedence level by the priority and
conformance level.
To apply the remarking policy, proceed as follows:
1.
Set ACL on the traffic on which the user wants to apply the policy (use the
access-list
command in Global Configuration mode).
