Argument Description
A1.B1.C1.D1
IP address of the configured IP interface.
/M
Subnet mask of the configured IP interface in the range <1-30>.
M1.M1.M1.M1
IP address mask of the configured IP interface.
secondary
(Optional). Specifies that the configured address is a secondary IP address. If this
keyword is omitted, the configured address is the primary IP address.
Example 1
The following example shows how to configure 192.168.70.65/24 as a secondary IP address:
device-name
(config)#
interface sw1
device-name
(config-if sw1)#
ip address 192.168.0.143/24
device-name
(config-if sw1)#
ip address 192.168.70.65/24 secondary
The following command displays the configuration of IP interface
sw1
where 192.168.0.143/24 is
the primary IP address and 192.168.70.65/24 is added to the IP interface as a secondary:
device-name#
show ip interface sw1
Interface sw1

Example 2
The following example shows how to assign IP address 192.168.10.2/16 to the Outband IP
interface.
device-name
(config)#
interface outBand0
device-name
(config-if outBand0)#
ip address 192.168.10.2/16
Setting the IP Interface Cost
The
bandwidth
command, in IP Interface Configuration mode, sets the bandwidth informational
parameter for the IP interface. The
no
form of this command sets the value to zero (the default).
For example, the command is used by the OSPF routing protocol to calculate the IP interface cost.
