Script Files System
A script file is a text file that includes a sequence of CLI configuration commands. The file system
contains a collection of configuration script files.
The user can store own scripts as files in the script file system. Running and startup configurations
can be stored and executed also to the file system. All stored configuration files can be uploaded to
a TFTP server, and then edited with a text editor and downloaded back to the device.
Overview
You can perform the following actions with script files:
•
Download script files from a FTP or TFTP server;
•
Upload script files to a FTP or TFTP server;
•
Delete script files from the file system;
•
Rename script files;
•
Run script files;
•
View the contents of script files.
You can show a list of the files stored in the file system, and the user can clean the entire file
system.
NOTE
The
reload to-defaults
command in Privileged (Enable) mode does not affect the
contents of the script file system.
When the user runs a script file, the current running configuration of the device is merged with the
new settings that are configured by the script file.
The number of configuration script files that the user can store is limited only by the storage space
available in the router file system.
Every file in the file system has a unique name of up to 32 characters without blank spaces.
