Argument Description
value
Upper IRDP advertisement interval boundary, 0 or any number of seconds in the
range <4-1800>.
If 0 is specified, the value is set to 600 seconds (the default value). Otherwise, the
value may not be less than the
minadvertinterval
value.
Setting the Lower Boundary of the IRDP Time Interval
The
ip irdp minadvertinterval
command, in IP Interface Configuration mode, sets a lower
boundary to the time interval allowed for IRDP router advertisements (messages that advertise the
router as a default gateway of the network connected to the configured IP interface). The
no
form
of this command sets the default value.
By default, the
minadvertinterval
is two thirds (2/3) of the upper boundary value
(
maxadvertinterval
, set by the
ip irdp maxadvertinterval
command, with a default value of 600).
Command Syntax
device-name
(config-if sw1)#
ip irdp minadvertinterval
<

>
device-name
(config-if sw1)#
no ip irdp minadvertinterval
Argument Description
value
Lower IRDP advertisement interval boundary, in the range <3-1800> seconds, but
not greater than the
maxadvertinterval
value.
Debugging IRDP
Table 22
lists the IRDP debugging commands.
Table 22: IRDP Debugging Commands
Command
Description
debug irdp
Displays debug information related to ICMP Router Discovery
Protocol (IRDP) received and transmitted packets.
show debug irdp
Displays the status of the IRDP debug actions that are currently
activated in the device.
Enabling IRDP Packets Debug Information
The
debug irdp
command, in Privileged (Enable) mode, displays debug information related to
received and transmitted ICMP Router Discovery Protocol (IRDP) packets. Use the
no
form of this
command to disable the display of the IRDP packets debug information. The command without
parameters will display all the IRDP packets debug information.
The IRDP debug commands will not be saved after reload.
By default, the debug is disabled.
