Assigning Switch In-band IP Address
The
ip address
command, in Global Configuration mode, sets the IP address.
NOTE
The command sets the IP address to the
sw0
IP interface
.
To manage the device by way of a Telnet connection or by using an SNMP Network Manager, the
user must first configure the switch IP parameters and the default gateway. To set the switch
default gateway, use the
ip route
command in the Global Configuration mode.
Command Syntax

Argument Description
A1.B1.C1.D1
IP address of the configured IP interface.
/M
(Optional). Subnet mask of the configured IP interface, in the range <1-30>.
M1.M2.M3.M4
(Optional). Subnet mask of the configured IP interface.

Displaying the Switch IP Address
The
show ip address
command, in Privileged (Enable) mode, displays the switch IP address.
