CPU Utilization Commands
The device allows the user to monitor their CPU performance. CPU monitoring provides a wider
picture of how the device CPU handles the load. A device may be diagnosed as “underpowered” or
has depleted resources, if it utilizes 80-85% of its CPU for an extended period of time.
Table 21
lists the CPU Utilization commands.

Using CPU Commands
Setting the CPU Monitoring
The
cpu monitoring
command, in Global Configuration mode, enables CPU utilization
monitoring (i.e., the percentage of CPU usage). The
no
form of the command disables CPU
utilization monitoring.
To display the CPU utilization use the
show
cpu utilization
command in Privileged (Enable)
mode.
By default, CPU utilization monitoring is enabled.

Displaying the CPU Utilization
The
show
cpu utilization
command, in Privileged (Enable) mode, displays the CPU usage in real
time. This command will display the CPU usage only when the CPU monitoring is enabled by the
cpu monitoring
command in Global Configuration mode.
