Hiding the OutBand Interface
The
snmp-server if-tables hide outBand
command, in Global Configuration mode, hides the
OutBand data in the SNMP ifTable/ifXTable/ipAddrTable/ipForwardTable. The
no
form of this
command enables displaying the OutBand interface. The
snmp-server if-tables hide outBand
command enables to hide the OutBand interface so an SNMP management tool, such as HP
OpenView, will not perceive this interface as a management interface during the Auto-Discovery.
Command Syntax
device-name
(config)#
snmp-server if-tables hide outBand
device-name
(config)#
no snmp-server if-tables hide
Notification Configuration Commands
In order to send notifications to the management station, perform the following steps:
1.
Enable the SNMP agent (if it is disabled). See
Enabling the SNMP Server
.
2.
Create views, groups and users that include the notification variables with notify
access right. See
SNMP Configuration Commands
.
3.
Create a tag that includes all required notifications. See
Defining SNMP Notification
.
4.
Create a target parameter that links a parameter name to the user. See
Defining the
Notification Target Parameter.
5.
Create a target address that links the parameter to a specific IP address. See
Defining
the Notification Target Address
.
Table 4
lists the configuration commands for the SNMPv3 Agent. By default, no notifications will
be sent by the device.
NOTE
The user configured to receive the notification must have
notify
access (in the view)
to all variables participating in the notification.
