Argument Description
vc-id
VC ID value in the range <0-4294967295>.
Adding and Removing the Service Access Port (SAP)
The
sap
command, in VPLS configuration mode, adds client port to a specific VPLS instance.
The
sap
command has to be executed once for each Service Access Port in the VPLS instance.
When qualified mode is configured, ports and VLANs are specified. When unqualified mode is
configured, only ports are specified.
The
no
form of this command removes the specified client port from the specified VPLS instance.

Argument Description
UU/SS/PP
Represents the Unit, Slot and Port numbers, which will be added to the
SAP.
vlan <vlan-id>
(Optional). The VLAN identity number in the range <1-4093>.
The vlan-id can only be configured when qualified mode is chosen on the
device. In qualified operation mode, the
vlan
argument is mandatory.

(Optional). Specifies entering SAP option mode.

form of the command, only
the description of the SAP is cleared without removing the SAP itself.
NOTE

. PDUs above MTU size will be dropped.
NOTE
Special care must be taken if a port is an untagged member of its default VLAN
and this VLAN is used when specifying this same port as SAP for a qualified VPLS
instance. Such configuration will result in all untagged traffic entering the VPLS
instance. To prevent untagged traffic from entering the VPLS instance users
should avoid this kind of configuration.

It is recommended to perform VLAN configuration before configuring VPLS
