Command
Description
oam ethertype
Specifies the MEF OAM Ethertype value of the Hello packets
and connectivity test requests.
oam multicast-address
Sets Multicast address prefix to use for MEF OAM multicasts.
oam ping
Performs MEF OAM connectivity test request for a specific
MAC or broadcasts it over all known MEF OAM domains.
oam traceroute
Finds and displays an Ethernet-level path from the current
device to the specified device in the network.
clear oam connectivity
Resets the calculations that were accumulated up to the
present time for a specific MEF OAM domain/MAC address.
Setting MEF OAM Connectivity Matrix Recalculation Rate
The
oam recalculation-cycle
command, in Global Configuration mode, sets the time period of the
MEF OAM connectivity matrix recalculation cycle. The
no
form of this command resets the
recalculation rate to the default cycle.
By default, the recalculation cycle is 15 seconds.
Command Syntax
device-name
(config)#
oam recalculation-cycle <seconds>
device-name
(config)#
no oam recalculation-cycle
Argument Description
seconds
Specification of MEF OAM connectivity matrix recalculation cycle, in the range <1-
600> seconds.
Example
device-name
(config)#
oam recalculation-cycle 20
Setting MEF OAM Ethertype
The
oam ethertype
command, in Global Configuration mode, specifies the MEF OAM Ethertype
value of the Hello packets and connectivity test requests. The
no
form of this command resets the
Ethertype value to its default.
NOTE
After changing the MEF OAM Ethertype value, the user must save the
configuration and reset the device.
By default, the Ethertype value is 0x889C.
NOTE The OAM Ethertype located in the OAM packet header was not set in the MEF
standard. Foundry Networks determined that the OAM Ethertype will be 0x889C.
