MAC addresses learned as filtered do not age. If users need to switch traffic from a
MAC address that is learned as filtered, this MAC address should first be
manually deleted from the FDB.

Specifies the number of MAC addresses the service supports.
Specifying a Threshold for Sending Notification
The
security watermark
command, in Service Configuration mode, specifies the number of MAC
addresses that once exceeded, a notification (a log or trap) is sent to a preset destination. Note that
the goal of such a notification is to prevent exceeding the maximum MAC count.
The
no
form of this command removes a watermark previously specified.

Specifies the maximum number of MAC addresses.
trap
Specifies that when the MAC addresses watermark is exceeded a trap will be
sent.
log
Specifies that when the MAC addresses watermark is exceeded a log will be
generated.
Defining the Action to be Performed on Exceeding the Watermark
The
security watermark
action
, in Service Configuration mode, defines the action that is to be
performed when the watermark is exceeded.
The default action of this command is to send a trap.
