Configuration Example
Creating an IP Interface
The following commands create an IP interface and a VLAN, and bind the IP interface to the
created VLAN. The IP interface that is bound to VLAN ports defines a routing IP interface. The
VLAN commands can be found in chapter “
Configuring VLANs
”.
1. Create an IP interface named
sw4
:
device-name
#
configure terminal
device-name
(config)#
interface sw4
2. Add an IP address to the created IP interface and exit from the IP Interface
Configuration mode:
device-name
(config-if sw4)#
ip address 10.3.2.1/24
device-name
(config-if sw4)#
exit
3. Enter into the VLAN Configuration mode:
device-name
(config)#
vlan
4. Create VLAN named Acct_vlan with VLAN ID 100:
device-name
(config vlan)#
create Acct_vlan 100
5. Enter into VLAN
Acct_vlan
Configuration mode:
device-name
(config vlan)#
config Acct_vlan
6. Add ports 1/1/2 to 1/1/5 to be members on VLAN
Acct_vlan
as tagged:
device-name
(config-vlan Acct_vlan)#
add ports 1/1/2-1/1/5 tagged
device-name
(config-vlan Acct_vlan)
#add ports default 1/1/2-1/1/5
7. Attach the IP interface
sw4
to VLAN
Acct_vlan
:
device-name
(config-vlan Acct_vlan)#
rif sw4
8. Remove ports 1/1/2 to 1/1/5 from the default VLAN:
device-name
(config-vlan Acct_vlan)#
config default
device-name
(config-vlan default)#
remove ports 1/1/2-1/1/5
9. Display the VLAN configuration:
device-name
#
show
vlan
