features like VLANs, VPLS and related features cannot be enabled.
Command Syntax
device-name
(config vlan)#
create NAME <vlan-id>
Argument Description
NAME
Specifies the VLAN name.
vlan-id
Sets the VLAN tag number, in the range <2-4093>.
Example
This following example creates a VLAN named
accounting
with tag number 2:
device-name
(config vlan)#
create accounting 2
Removing a VLAN by the VLAN Name
The
delete
command, in VLAN Configuration mode, deletes the VLAN specified by its VLAN
name.
The VLAN named
default
(VLAN ID 1) is part of the default configuration and cannot be deleted.
Command Syntax
device-name
(config vlan)#
delete NAME
Argument Description
NAME
VLAN name of an existing VLAN.
Example
The following example deletes the VLAN named
accounting
:
device-name
(config vlan)#
delete accounting
Removing a VLAN by the VLAN ID
The
delete id
command, in VLAN Configuration mode, deletes the VLAN specified by its VLAN
ID.
The VLAN with ID 1 (named
default
) is part of the default configuration and cannot be deleted.
