Invalid split surfaces for merging
To merge toposurfaces:
1 Click Site menu

Merge Surfaces, or on the Site tab of the Design Bar, click Merge Surfaces.
2 If desired, on the Options Bar, clear Remove Points on Common Edges.
This option removes excess points that were inserted after a surface was split. The option is
selected by default.
3 Select the primary surface.
4 Select the secondary surface.
The 2 surfaces merge into one.
Graded Regions
To create a graded region, you select a toposurface to modify. The surface should be an existing surface in
the current phase. (See
Phase Filters on page 1265.) Revit Architecture marks the original surface as demolished
and makes a copy with a matching boundary. Revit Architecture marks the copy as new in the current phase.
To grade a toposurface:
1 Click Site menu

Graded Region, or on the Site tab of the Design Bar, click Graded Region.
2 In the Graded Region dialog, select one of the following:
■ Select and Edit: Allows you to edit the surface.
■
Select: Allows you to select a toposurface to designate as a graded region.
NOTE The Copy Internal Points option is not selected by default; only the boundary points are copied.
If you select this option, all points of the surface are copied. If you are making major edits to the
surface, leave this option unchecked. If you want to keep most of the surface's characteristics and are
making minor changes, select the option.
3 Select the toposurface.
