To open a second window for the current view, click Window menu

New Window. This command is
useful if you want to pan and zoom on certain areas of the design, while also viewing the entire design
in another window. (Use the Tile command to see both views at the same time.) Any changes that you
make to the project in the new window also appear in other windows of the project.

To arrange all open windows in a series in the drawing area, click Window menu
➤
Cascade.

To see all open views at the same time, click Window menu
➤
Tile.
■
To move the icons of all minimized project views to the bottom of the drawing area, click Window
menu
➤
Arrange Icons.

To close all hidden views, click Window menu
➤
Close Hidden Windows. If more than one project is
open, one window per project remains open.

To invert the background color of the drawing area:

Click Settings menu

Options.

In the Options dialog, click the Graphics tab.

Select or clear the Invert background color option.

Click OK.
Status Bar
The status bar is in the lower-left corner of the Revit Architecture window. When you are using a command,
the status bar provides tips or hints on what to do. When you are highlighting an element or component,
the status bar displays the name of the family and type.
To hide the status bar, click Window menu

Status Bar. To show the status bar again, repeat the command.
Options Bar
The Options Bar is located below the menu bar and toolbars, and to the right of the Type Selector. Its contents
change depending on the current command or selected element.
Type Selector
The Type Selector is located below the toolbars and above the Design Bar. Its contents change depending
on the current function or selected component. When you place a component in a drawing, use the Type
Selector to specify the type of component to add. When you have selected an existing component, use the
Type Selector to change its type.
