6
On the Design Bar, click Finish Sketch.
NOTE
You cannot use the Automatic Ceiling command if you have already sketched lines for the
ceiling.
Sloped Ceilings
Revit Architecture provides 3 methods for creating a sloped ceiling while in ceiling sketch mode.
Method 1
While in sketch mode, click Slope Arrow to define the slope of the ceiling. The length of the slope arrow
determines the run, and the height of it determines the rise (hence rise/run). Also, the direction of the line
determines the orientation of the ceiling.

Slope by Setting Height at Tail
1
In the Element Properties dialog, for Specify, select Height at Tail.
2
For Height Offset at Tail, specify how high above the level the slope arrow begins.
3
For Level at Tail, specify the level at which to start the slope arrow. For example, the ceiling
sketch is on Level 2. You could choose to start the slope arrow on Level 3.
4
For Height Offset at Head, specify how high above the level the slope arrow ends.
5
For Level at Head, specify the level at which to end the slope arrow. For example, the ceiling
sketch is on Level 2. You could choose to end the slope arrow on Level 3.
6
Click OK.
Slope by Setting Slope Value
1
In the Element Properties dialog, for Specify, select Slope.
2
For Rise/(Run), specify a slope value.
3
For Height Offset at Tail, specify how high above the level the slope arrow begins.
4
For Level at Tail, specify the level at which to start the slope arrow. For example, the ceiling
sketch is on Level 2. You could choose to start the slope arrow on Level 3.
5
Click OK.
