Locking Columns to a Grid
You can constrain the current position of the column to a grid. This state allows you to move the grid and
keep columns in their respective orientation to their grid placement.
Valid columns must be within a grid and have a valid column location mark .
To enable this state:

Select the columns to lock to the grid.

Click
to open the Element Properties Dialog.

Under the Constraints section, select Moves with Grids.

Click OK.
The modified columns may still be moved and modified but they will proportionately move with the grid
if it is repositioned.
Adding a Splice Symbol or Plate Symbol to a Steel Structural Column

Right-click a structural column and click Element Properties.

In the Element Properties dialog, under Graphics, select Top Connection Symbol (for top splice),
or Base Plate Symbol (for bottom plate), as needed.

Click OK.
Structural Column Properties
There are several properties for structural columns, including base level, base offset, and materials.

Select the structural column and click

In the Element Properties dialog, edit structural column instance parameters as required.

Click Edit/New to edit structural column type parameters.
