How Materials Are Stored
Materials are stored as part of a project file. When you create a project, Revit Architecture provides many
default materials to choose from. If necessary, you can create custom materials or change the settings for
existing materials. New and changed materials are also saved as part of a project file.
To share custom materials with team members, click File menu

Searching for a Material

Open the Materials dialog.
You can access the Materials dialog by clicking Settings menu

Materials, or from several other
points in the software.

(Optional) To specify the type of list to display, at the bottom of the materials list, click Show
list, Show small icons, or Show large icons.

(Optional) For Material Class, select the desired class (such as Concrete or Metal).
