The hollow blue dot is the focal point and the pink dot is the target point.

Drag the camera to modify the camera level. Drag the hollow blue dot to modify the focal point
around the axis of rotation (the target point).
Displaying a 3D View

Double-click the 3D view name in the Project Browser.

If the view is open but hidden behind another view, click Window menu

<view name>.
Specifying Camera Location in a 3D View
The Orient command sets the location of the camera in a 3D view. Changes made to the orientation or
position of the 3D camera are considered temporary until they are saved. For information on saving a 3D

Open a 3D view.

Click View menu

Orient.

Select from the following options:
■
Directions
: orients the camera north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, or
southwest.
■
Top
: places the camera at the top of the model.
■
By Plane
: opens the Select Orientation Plane dialog where you can select a work plane to
orient the view to. For more information about work plane options, see
Sketching and Work
Planes
on page 265.
■
To Other View
: opens the Orient to Other View dialog where you can select another view.
The camera moves to the same location as in the view you specify, and a section box is placed
around the model that emulates the extents of the selected view.
NOTE
To turn off the section box, in the Project Browser right-click the view name and select
Properties. In the Element Properties dialog, clear the Section Box check box.
