Maintenance Commands
555-233-143
7-2
Issue 1 May 2002
New Commands
New commands for the S8700 IP Connect and Multi-Connect configurations are
added for the IP Server Interface (IPSI) circuit pack that envelopes the old packet
interface (PKT-INT) and Tone and Clock functionality, and controls interport
network signaling and links.
All of the new SAT commands for maintenance are IPSI related. Since the IPSI is
a part of the processor complex, the ability to execute the commands requires that
logins have the maintenance permission level indicated by
Process Circuit
Packs
set to y on the Command Permissions Categories form in administration.
Any login can be given this permission. These logins have maintenance
permission as their default: init, inads, and craft.
NOTE:
There may be instances when the customer or Avaya Services will need to
force (Control Network) CN traffic to either IPSI in high or critical
configurations, or to CN “a” or “b.” Events that could bring this about are a
need to service switch, hub, or subnet elements in one of the CNs. As long
as there is an equal state of health in the IPSIs or CNs, executing the
command to force CN traffic should have no service impact.
The following SAT commands are new for the S8700 Multi-Connect and S8700 IP
Connect configurations:
■
‘‘add ipserver-interface’’ on page 7-39
■
‘‘busyout ipserver-interface’’ on page 7-46
■
