Beam to Wall
Setback and cutback apply when connecting beams to structural walls. The beams are independent of one
another, are only associated with the common wall, and will cutback from the wall accordingly. Recessing
the beam into a beam pocket is possible by removing the cutback with the beam join editor.
Non-cutback Beam to Wall Join
Cutback Beam to Wall Join
Joining a beam to a wall is achieved by drawing a beam and attaching one of its endpoints to the center of
the total wall thickness.
Braces and Trusses
Braces adjust for default setback and cutback through either Element Properties or Structural Settings. Trusses
only adjust with Structural Settings. The Beam Join Editor can be used on truss chords. Truss webs and braces
cannot be modified by the editor.
