Creating Floors Using the Floor by Face Command
1 Create mass floors for the mass instance. For instructions, see Creating Mass Floors on page 525.
2 On the Massing tab of the Design Bar, click Floor by Face.
3 In the Type Selector, select a floor type.
4 If desired, specify an offset for the floor.
If you enter an offset value, the floor is offset that amount from the edges of the mass floor. A
positive value makes a smaller floor; a negative value makes a larger floor.
5 To select more than one face, select Multiple. Otherwise, clear this option.
6 Place the cursor on a mass floor.

7 Click to select the mass floor.
If you clear the Multiple option, a floor is placed on the face immediately.
8 If you selected Multiple, do the following:
■ Continue selecting mass floors.
You can add or remove mass floors from the selection by clicking them. The cursor indicates
whether you are adding (+) or removing (–) a face. To clear the selection of all faces and start
selecting again, on the Options Bar, click Clear.
TIP You may want to select mass floors using a selection box, particularly if the mass contains
many mass floors. See Selecting Multiple Elements on page 270.
■ On the Options bar, click Create Floors to create a floor on all selected faces.
