Description
Property
Perception of the luminance of the decal. Brightness is a multiplier, so a value of
1.0 makes no change. If you specify 0.5, its brightness is reduced by half.
Brightness
Measurement of how much light the decal reflects from its surface. Enter a value
between 0 (no reflections) and 1 (maximum reflections). See
Transparency and
Translucency
on page 475.
Reflectivity
Measurement of how much light passes through the decal. Enter a value between
0 (completely opaque) and 1 (completely transparent).
Transparency
Texture of the decal surface.
Finish
Light emitted by the surface, measured in candelas per square meter. Select a pre-
defined value, or select Custom to enter a value.
Luminance (cd/m^2)
Bump pattern (additional texture) to use on the decal surface. See
Specifying an
Image File for a Render Appearance
on page 476. This texture is layered on top of
Bump Pattern
any texture already applied to the surface on which the decal is placed. For example,
if you place a decal on a brick wall, the texture of the brick wall affects the decal,
in addition to the decal texture specified here.
Relative amplitude of the bumps. Enter 0 to make the surface flat. Enter higher
decimal values (up to 1.0) to increase the depth of the surface irregularities.
Bump Amount
Shapes cut into the surface of the decal. Select a shape, or select Custom to define
cut-outs using an image. See
Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance
on
page 476.
Cut-outs
Rendering an Image
You can use Revit Architecture to render 3D views. You can then place rendered images on sheets to present
designs to clients. The rendering interface uses intelligent defaults so that you can easily generate a quality
rendered image without in-depth understanding of rendering technology. The interface also offers advanced
settings for users with more rendering experience.
As an alternative, you can export a 3D view, and use another software application to render the image. See
Exporting to 3ds Max
on page 1297.
