In a building, a rigid structure built into a wall to hold a door, window, or other component. In
Revit Architecture, you can specify the material and finish for a door frame.

framing elevation
An elevation view that shows the structural framing of a building model. You can work
in a framing elevation when adding vertical bracing to the model, or for any task that requires quick work
plane alignment to a grid or to a named reference plane.
