These global parameters adjust the structural symbolic lines used in coarse level of detail views. Changes
apply to all beams, trusses, braces, and columns.
Instance (Medium/Fine Level of Detail) Cutback
Set default cutback settings for beam instances with the Element Properties dialog.
1
On the Design Bar, click Modify.
2
Select the beam instance (or instances).
3
Click
on the Options Bar.
4
Under the Construction heading, locate the Start Extension and End Extension parameters. Adjust as
needed.
These parameters adjust the cutback of beam instances used in medium/fine level of detail views. Positive
dimensions entered here extend the beam, effectively reducing the cutback. Negative values increase the
cutback. Adjustments do not affect symbolic representation.
End Join Types
There are two types of beam end joins: square-off and miter. The Beam Join Editor adjusts both.
