Navigating the Drawing Area
Use the following techniques to navigate the drawing area. Many of these techniques have equivalent
commands on the View menu, the View toolbar, and the shortcut menu for the drawing area. Some techniques
require a Microsoft
®
IntelliMouse
®
. For more information, see

on page 193.
Then do this...
If you want to...
do one of the following:
zoom in on an area
■
Move the cursor over the area to zoom in on, and roll the IntelliMouse
®
wheel
forward.
■
Type
ZR
(for Zoom In Region), and drag a rectangle around the area to zoom
in on.
■
Press F8 and, while pressing CTRL, click and drag the cursor downwards.
do one of the following:
zoom out
■
Move the cursor over the area on which to focus, and roll the IntelliMouse
®
wheel backward.
■
Type
ZO
(for Zoom Out).
■
Press F8 and, while pressing CTRL, click and drag the cursor upwards.
type
ZF
(for Zoom to Fit), or type
ZA
(for Zoom All to Fit).
zoom out to fit the entire model in the
drawing area
do one of the following:
scroll (or pan) around the drawing area
■
Press and hold the IntelliMouse
®
wheel, and drag the mouse in the direction
to scroll or pan.
■
Press F8, then click and drag the mouse button in the direction to scroll or
pan.
do one of the following:
rotate or orbit a 3D drawing
■
Press and hold the IntelliMouse
®
wheel, and, while pressing SHIFT, click and
drag the mouse in the direction to orbit the model.
■
Press F8, and, while pressing SHIFT, click and drag the mouse in the direction
to orbit the model.
in the Project Browser, click the view name.
