3 In the Value field for the subcategory property, click once in the box to bring up the arrow for
the drop-down menu. Click on the arrow to bring up a listing of the subcategories. Click the
appropriate subcategory.
4 Click OK.
5 In your project, define the display for the family in the Object Styles dialog. See Object Styles
on page 484.
Families Tips
■ When creating the sketched geometry, use the reference planes. You can then modify the dimensions
for the reference planes to modify the sketch. The dimensions of the reference plane become properties
of the family and can be used to create other family types of varying sizes.
■ If there are other dimensions you wish to add to the properties of the family, create a permanent dimension
on the sketch and add a label to the dimension. See
Dimensioning with Families on page 359.
