Window placed at a join between 2 walls
■ When an insert is placed on hosts between hosts of unequal thickness (as shown above), you can resize
the thickness of the insert relative to its hosts. Select the insert and, on the Options Bar, click Pick Main
Host. Select the host you want the insert to resize to match. The insert resizes to the selected host's
thickness. If you later delete the host, you delete the insert as well.
■ If you select Radius on the Options Bar, and then join the end of a straight wall to the end of another
straight wall, a fillet is created between the walls at the specified radius. Exactly one wall can join to
exactly one other wall; you cannot have multiple joins.
Adding Retaining Walls
1 In a plan view or 3D view, click Modelling menu

Wall, or on the Modelling tab of the Design
Bar, click Wall.
2 From the Type Selector, select a wall type.
3 Click (Element Properties).
4 In the Element Properties dialog, click Edit/New.
5 In the Type Properties dialog, select Retaining for the Wall Function parameter.
6 Click OK twice.
NOTE A retaining wall is automatically set to be non-room bounding. See Rooms on page 913.
7 Sketch the retaining wall.

8 Add dimensions if desired.

Arc Walls
When you sketch arc walls, Revit Architecture displays a temporary angular dimension to help you precisely
place the wall in the project.
Revit Architecture treats a full-circle wall as 2 arcs joined together. You can cut inserts at this join, but you
cannot drag an insert from one part of the wall onto the join.
