You can exchange i-mode mail as if to chat by displaying the contents of mail items
sent to a recipient and replies from the recipient in the Chat mail screen.
•
You must set the recipient with whom to exchange Chat mail as a Chat member in advance.
•
You must set Receive Option off. If you set Receive Option on, Chat mail is stored at the
i-mode center so that you cannot receive it (see p.379).
•
You can receive a call during Chat mail. After you end the call, the Chat mail screen reappears.
•
For Chat mail, the communication charges are the same as when sending mail to numbers of
addresses one by one.

Setting the Chat member
You can set those individuals with whom you want to exchange Chat mail.
•
Maximum number of members that can be set
:
10 (not including the “me” chat member that is
set by default)

Set a mail address

To manually enter a mail address

Select the entry location and press
(edit).
The set Chat member screen appears.
•
Alternatively, you can select “setting”
“mail setting” from the menu.
•
You can also select “set member” from the submenu during Chat mail.
•
If Chat members are already registered, the beginnings of the Chat names or
mail addresses appear.

Select the “mail address” field and press
(select).

Select “2. direct input”, press
(select), and enter a mail address.
•
Up to 50 single-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols (such as “@” and “.”) can be entered.
•
When registering the mail address of an i-mode compatible mobile phone, you can omit the @
and subsequent portion of the mail address.
•
If the recipient has a Secret code, enter the recipient’s 4-digit Secret code, following the phone
number of the recipient.
•
In alphabetic mode, you can easily enter “@” and “.” by repetitively pressing
.
•
In alphabetic mode, you can easily enter “.ne.jp” and “.co.jp” by repetitively pressing
