Words or phrases that are not easily converted into correct kanji characters, or
frequently used long words or phrases like company names can be registered with
their unique readings, making it easy to recall them when needed.
•
Maximum number of words and phrases that can be saved: 100 (up to 32 single-byte or 16
double-byte characters each)
Registering a new word

In standby, select “setting”

If words are already registered, the word list appears.

Select “store new” from the submenu.

Register a new word.

To enter a word or phrase

Select the “word” field and press
(select).

Enter a word or phrase (up to 32 single-byte or 16 double-byte characters).

To enter the reading

Select the “reading” field and press
(select).

Enter the reading (up to 16 double-byte hiragana).
•
A dakuten (

) or handakuten (

) for reading is regarded as 1 double-byte character.
•
The following characters cannot be used at the beginning of the reading:

a prolonged sound sign (
