Compose and Send i-shot Mail
Using i-shot to Send Still Images
You can attach a still image you took with the built-in camera to mail and send it using
i-shot. You can select any of the still images you took and saved or can also take a
new image with the built-in camera.
•
Maximum number of images that can be sent: 1 still image per mail item
•
You must show your caller ID when you send images using i-shot.
•
If there is no open space in the Outmail box (when there are a total of 200 unsent and protected
mail items including i-mode mail, Short Mail and i-shot mail), you cannot compose new i-shot
mail.
•
You cannot send i-shot mail when Keydial Lock is set.
•
You cannot send i-shot mail without attaching an image.
•
You do not need to subscribe to i-mode to send i-shot mail.
•
You incur call charges for sending i-shot mail.
•
When you attach a melody to a mail item, you cannot attach a still image.
•
You can send still images of the following sizes:
•
You can change a still image of the image size other than “i-shot (S)” or “i-shot (L)” to “i-shot (S)” or
“i-shot (L)” to send it.

You can also change “i-shot (L)” to “i-shot (S)”.
・
Depending on the combination of the old and new image sizes, the top and bottom of the image may
be lost.
・
If you change a still image of the “wallpaper” size to “i-shot (L)”, a margin is placed to around the still
image.
・
A still image of the “QQVGA” size is reduced to “i-shot (S)” automatically. (“QQVGA” is a wallpaper-
sized still image used for D251i or D251iS.

A still image of which image size is changed is saved to the built-in memory (“photo folder” in
“camera album”) aside from the original still image. The original still image is not changed.
•
If the amount of data of a still image exceeds the maximum amount that can be sent, the data will be
automatically reduced before being sent.
•
If you send images saved in the Memory Stick Duo, display the image from the Memory Stick Duo and
send it, or copy the image to the built-in memory (see p.493, 496)
•
If you send still images in the Secret setting folder, release the Secret setting of the folder or move the
image to another folder (see p.188, 189).
•
For still images taken in the Burst mode, use the Best Shot function to select the image and send it
(see p.165).
•
For a video clip you took, extract one shot and send it (see p.186).
•
The following images cannot be sent:

Images preloaded by default
・
Images downloaded from sites or i-mode mail,
・
Images received via i-shot
・
Corrupted images

i-shot (S):
120
× 120 dots
Description
This size is appropriate when sending images to i-mode compatible mobile
phones or other operator’s mobile phones.
i-shot (L):
288 × 352 dots
This size is appropriate for sending images to PCs, etc.
Note: You can send images to i-mode compatible mobile phones or other
operator’s mobile phones. However, since the data size is large, it costs
more than sending “i-shot (S)” size images.
