■
You can take images in a variety of ways
•
You can zoom with a factor of up to 20. (The maximum factor depends on the size of the image to
take and whether you selected Close or Open Shoot.) (see p.148).
•
You can use the Compact light to take a still image or video clip in low light (see p.149).
•
You can take a video clip up to about 30 seconds (with sound) (see p.143).
•
You can take still images in the Burst mode (see p.139). Still images taken in the Burst mode can
be viewed consecutively by playing them as if they were an animation. Also, you can select a shot
from still images in the Burst mode and save it (see p.165).
•
You can take still images with Frames (still images only) (see p.141).
•
You can take still images or video with the Auto timer (see p.150).
•
You can take still images or video by setting photo effects (such as image brightness, contrast, and
coloration) (see p.151).
•
The Voice shutter allows you to operate the shutter or start video recording with your voice. You can
take still images or video without holding your mova. It is also helpful in preventing blurring as you
do not need to press the shutter key to shoot (see p.157).
■
Simple mode and Pro mode
When using the camera, you can select from among the Simple mode and Pro mode. The Simple
mode is set by default. For details about switching the modes, see p.154.

About the lens cover
For Close Shoot, open the lens cover.
•
While your mova is closed, in standby, opening the lens cover automatically
activates the camera and the Still Image Photography screen appears
(see p.135). You can switch it to Video Photography or Barcode Reader
(see p.134).
•
While your mova is closed, if you close the lens cover while viewing the Still
Image Photography screen, the Video Photography screen, or the Barcode
Reader’s code scanning screen, it will end the camera. It does not end the
camera during video recording, code scanning, or making settings.
•
When you start/stop the camera by opening/closing the lens cover, the open
cover tone or close cover tone sounds. You can change or mute sounds by
setting (see p.154).
•
In Manner Mode or Drive Mode, the open cover tone or close cover tone is muted.
•
While the Side keys are set to be disabled, opening the lens cover will not start the camera.

Description
Simple mode
This mode allows using the camera function easily. You cannot make
detailed photo effect settings (light, contrast, sharpness, and white
balance), but can select a setting which is appropriate to the place and
subject. Since an explanation appears on the screen when you set photo
mode, you can select the optimum conditions.
This mode allows using the camera function perfectly. All photo effect
items can be set in this mode. No explanation appears on the screen for
setting the photo mode.
