Activating or Deactivating Your Caller ID Before Making a Call

You can select whether or not to send your phone number (Caller ID) to a receiver
before making a call, regardless of the Caller ID Notification setting.
•
You cannot use “186” (notify) or “184” (not notify) when making international calls.

Enter the phone number and press

You can also retrieve a phone number with the following functions and press
(select).

You can also retrieve a phone number from the Phonebook search result or
the details screen and select “ADDNL no.” from the submenu
(see p.103, 107).
•
You can select whether or not to send your Caller ID when using the Phone
to function from a site, Screen memo, mail and Message as well as when
making a call from mail and when using the Phone to function from an
i-
α
ppli program (see p.298, 357, 424).

Select “2.184 call” (not notify) or “3.186 call” (notify) and press
(select).
The “184” or “186” prefix is inserted to and the number is dialed.
•
Select “1. as is call” to dial the displayed number as is. When a phone number includes the
“184” or “186” prefix, the number is dialed as is.
•
Select “4. no 184/186” when a call is to be made to a number without the “184” or “186” prefix.
•
Select “5. INTL call” to call overseas (see p.48).
•
Select “6. cancel” to cancel the operation.

To add the “184” or “186” prefix to a number when dialing
The phone
number appears.
•
Your Caller ID will only appears on devices that can display Caller IDs such as mobile phones.
•
Names saved in the Phonebook appears in the Redial data and Dial history of the Private diary only when
a phone number that includes the “184” or “186” prefix completely matches the phone number saved in the
Phonebook. The Dial history items in groups that are set so that they are automatically saved in the Private
diary are saved automatically regardless of the “184” or “186” prefix.

A call with an “184” prefix from a person whose phone number is saved in the Phonebook causes the
reason the Caller ID is blocked to be displayed (see p.72).
•
When you search the Phonebook and select a number that includes an “184” or “186” prefix, you can
select whether or not to send your Caller ID.
