Entering single-byte katakana characters
Single-byte katakana characters or symbols (“
?
”, etc.) can be entered in the kana mode.
•
Note that double-byte katakana characters can be entered in the kanji mode.

In the character entry screen, press
(letter) to switch to the kana mode.
To restore “
ありがとう
” which is fixed by Predictive Conversion.
Example
After the character is entered, converted and
(fix) is pressed, you can press
to restore the characters
to their pre-fixed states. This function is effective in kanji mode.
•
The characters cannot be restored when the cursor is moved or the new line is started after fixation.

Single-byte katakana characters should not be used when you send mail to other than i-mode compatible
mobile phones, as such characters may not be correctly displayed at the receiving side.

If you make a mistake, use
to delete the character, and reenter the correct one.

When

is pressed, it is not necessary to move the cursor even if the characters are
assigned to the same key.

When a different numeric key is pressed while entering characters, the cursor moves
automatically.

to display characters in reverse order (see p.560).
Common phrases, symbols and pictographs can be entered using the special mode.
The characters can also be entered using Character Map Code from the special mode.
