Problem
mova cannot be turned on (mova
cannot be used).
Calls cannot be made by using
numeric keys.
After dialing a number, you hear
a busy signal and cannot
establish your call.
“ 圏外 ” (outside area) indication
appears and you hear a busy signal.
Neither “ 圏外 ” nor “ ” appears,
and the call cannot be made or is
quickly disconnected.
• Is Keydial Lock set? (see p.227)

Is the “

” (outside area) indication displayed? (see p.12)

Are you outside the service area? Or, are you in an area with poor
signal strength? (see p.12)

Is the battery connected correctly? (see p.34)

Is the remaining battery power sufficient? (see p.35)
•
Did you press and hold down ? (see p.39)
•
This problem may occur when the phone is in the edge of a service
area. It is not a failure of the phone. Move to a location where signal
conditions are good and
is indicated.
Calls cannot be received. • Is the power turned on? (see p.39)
• Is the “ 圏外 ” (outside area) indication displayed? (see p.12)
• Is Self Mode set? (see p.551)
• Is Drive Mode set? (see p.77)
• Is the phone during infrared communication? (see p.468)
• Is Record Message Shift Time set to “0s” and Record Message set to
“preset message” or “own message”? (see p.83, 81)
• Is a ring time of Voice Mail Service or Call Forwarding Service set to
“0s” and the service activated? (see p.451, 456)
Battery cannot be recharged.
• Is the battery connected correctly? (see p.34)
• Is the connectors, such as those for the AC adapter, firmly plugged in?
(see p.36, 37)
• displayed on the screen during recharging indicates a recharging
error (see p.38). Check the battery and AC adapter connections, etc.
• displayed on the screen during recharging indicates the
temperature is over the acceptable range. Replace the mova to where
the ambient temperature; between 5°C and 35°C (see p.38).
• If or remains on the display even after performing the above
procedures, contact an NTT DoCoMo service center (see p.614).
• Confirm that the protective cap of the connector is properly closed
when charging the phone in the desktop holder.

Is the Call Reception setting during i-mode set to other than “answer”?

Is the Select Second Call Handling function set to “voice mail (1451)”,
“forward (1452)”, or “2nd call off (1459)?” (see p.465)
Calls cannot be received while
using i-mode.
Nothing appears in the Inspiration
window. •
If mova is closed and about 75 seconds elapses without any action,
the display in the screen disappears (see p.14).
“please wait” appears and you
hear a busy signal.
• The line is busy. Wait for a while and try calling later. Emergency
numbers such as 110, 119, and 118 can be dialed. Please note that it
may not be dialed in certain conditions.
“setting self mode” appears.
• You cannot make or receive calls while Self Mode is set. Also, i-mode
communication, infrared communication, or network service settings
also cannot be performed. Cancel Self Mode (see p.551).
“
ﾀﾀﾞｲﾏﾀｲﾍﾝｺﾐｱｯﾃﾏｽ
” appears, and
it cannot be cleared.

The line is busy. Wait for a while and try calling later. Emergency
numbers such as 110, 119, and 118 can be dialed. Please note that it
may not be dialed in certain conditions.

Press and hold down to clear the text, and the previous screen
appears (see p.47).
